100% Naturally Me

[Note: I made a video on YouTube just showing off my new cut. You can check it out HERE : )]

I am 100% natural now and to say it feels great is an UNDERSTATEMENT!
A good friend accompanied me on the morning I got my hair cut and it was so great that she did! My appointment was scheduled for 8:30a and when it had reached 9a and my stylist hadn’t arrived, I started saying to myself…”is this a sign that I shouldn’t chop of all of my hair now??” Because my friend was there with me though, I never went with that thought : )
Well as soon as the actual cutting began, I vowed that I wouldn’t look into the mirror until everything was done. I really had no idea of what to expect! All I can say is that when everything was complete and I took my first glance in the mirror…all I could say was WOW…over and over again! lol. I had never seen my hair look so thick in my life and so short!! Once she washed it again and put some styling products in it, I started feeling a bit more comfortable. It was really encouraging to have a friend there with me though who was faithfully documenting the whole process taking pics and video clips : ) She’s natural too and hooked me up with some products and showed me how to style my hair after we left the salon.
Since I’ve been natural for a couple days now, I’ve received a lot of positive comments about my new look and also some wide stares from the people who’ve known me to have long, straight hair for most of my life, lol. I feel confident with my new look though, which is what matters most. I also have to add that it has been sooooooo easy doing my hair. I literally can wash, moisturize and go!! I must admit I can’t wait till my hair starts growing a bit though so I can experiment with more styles again. For now though, I’ll be rocking my teeny weeny afro (TWA) : ).

Congratulations! Welcome to naturaldom. I've only been a member for little under a month now. It is absolutely wonderful, I agree. Everything about it is so freeing and fun. :)

You look great I have been transitioning for 11 weeks but you give me the inspiration to do the big chop. Looks like it will be November
