Want Softer Skin? – Try Natural Soaps!

I just had to share with you guys my newfound love for natural soaps!

As all of my new product discoveries begin…I was walking in Whole Foods Market when…lol!

Really though! I was shopping in Whole Foods and I saw this young woman with the most beautiful natural hair and radiant skin browsing through the natural soaps area. When I would go down that aisle, I usually would skip all the natural soaps/lotions and head straight to the shea butters, coconut oil, and every other type of oil underneath the sun!

She made me curious though, so when she left, I went over to the soaps and started looking for myself. Man was that a great decision! There were so many soaps of different natural scents with my fav ingredients like shea butter, palm oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, peppermint oil, glycerin…to name a few. I ended up going home with like three bars of soap that day!!

Here are some pics of the soaps I’ve tried so far:

1. Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Bar Soap

2. Dr. Bronner’s Almond Bar Soap

3. South of France Lemon-Chamomile Bar Soap

4. South of France Acaí – Pomegranate Bar Soap

The first time I started using these soaps, I noticed a difference right away! My skin felt softer and smoother after bathing…significantly!

That made me think…I stopped using sulfates in my shampoos for my hair, but had neglected to see if the products I was bathing with contained sulfates too (as sulfates are common detergents). Sure enough, some of my favorite liquid bath soaps had sulfates in them! No wonder my skin would be crazy dry after bathing…the sulfates were stripping away too many of the natural oils my skin was producing along with any present dirt (just like sulfate-based shampoos).

So I’m pretty much sold on organic soaps now! Most natural bar soaps cost between $3-$6, and I’ve loved the scents from the bars that I’ve shown above, along with the bonus of softer, smoother skin :  )

*Sidenote: Dr. Bronner’s soaps made my skin feel softer than the South of France soaps

Do any of you all use natural soaps (liquid or bar)? If so, which ones have you tried?

I love natural soaps as well. I use Dr. Bronners liquid castile (diluted) in peppermint and almond. The peppermint is wonderful for relaxing after a stressful day and the almond is great if you want to smell sweet for a special someone *wink wink* LOL. I am also prone to body acne and noticed a significant difference in my breakouts!!! I replaced my detergent soap (I used to love Gain) with Dr. Bronners (not diluted) and havent had a breakout since. I havent tried others, but I may do so just to try different scents.

Dr. Bronner's is the best! I have the liquid soap though, it's easier to use living in a dorm. I need to find a whole foods…(I order online)

Natural soaps and witch hazel have cleared my acne like it was never there.
    *sigh*

I love natural soaps. i usually use the Zum line that’s sold at the Whole Foods store in my area. I’m also crazy about Lush products, there’s a store at one of our malls but they also have a website. Both lines have face soaps that I use and lush has a facial moisturizer, shampoos and conditioners that are natural. I’ve recently started to use Oyin Handmade body products and I LOVE them.
Natural soaps and body lotions do wonders for the skin. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
