Mae between your YouTube videos, and blogs I am able to stay current on hair tents and my favorite understand how to work with my natural hair.

I have been natural since 2004, however I didn’t know how to rock natural styles, I would where corn-rolls in to a bun or get a flat iron….

Thank you so much for your ideas, styles and videos.

The only thinking I would like to see on the sight is more info regarding vitamins!

Thanks Again,

I love this site because I get to learn new styles to do my hair, making me feel beautiful, also I like to leanr the healthy products I can put in my hair instead of doing things that may hurt it and hurt me.

I would like to see other peoples experiences or other products you can use in your hair. not just oils or shampoo but accesores or what if its damages your hair to keep it braided and wrapped for a certain period

Can’t wait to see more from you!

You know, it’s really hard to figure out what I like most about the blog. I think it’s your spirit that it’s your channel, blog, and facebook page. It’s just always so joyful and uplifting and with the down times that come with being natural it’s nice to always have that positivity. Included in that is you’re always willing to share the spotlight with other “naturalistas”. It’s not all about you; that’s nice. Y me encanta el espanol:)

I’d like to see more hair styles (yours or pics of others esp. fashion) and tutorials. I’m sure it’s tons of work especially while in school; so thanks bunches! – Godisamazing@gmail.com

2. Something i would like to see on the sitee in the future is maybe more information on different hair types since everyone doesnt have the same texture of hair and possibly some forums as well

Reply

I like this site because of the product reviews.. It gives me an idea of what to purchase especially if I see someone with a similiar texture to mine.

I think it would be cool to have more updates on people who have BC’d just to see how everything is going with their hair. Things always change the first few months after the BC and I want to know if people are still excited about the change, if they changed the products they used, etc etc…along with updated pictures :)

I have been following you on You Tube, FB, & Natural Chica since I first thought about going Natural. I was there when you BC & even now a year & some months later. I check in daily for updates, tutorials, hair ideas, & product reviews. Especially love the oil vid & making your own products. I even thought about the accessory idea, but never could master the hair bows & pins. I have been natural 8 mos, along with traditioning 7 mos. I love being NATURAL!!

I love all you have to say from day to day. Continue to show steps for night & stretching the hair. I try your tips, but mine still does not stretch. Keep all that coming and also try to reply to as many people as you can. I know you receive tons of emails, questions, & comments along with your busy schedule. It is always good to receive a response or reply back as acknowledgement when we contact or comment your post or blogs.

(1) The most I liked about Natural Chica is the great information and support that it offers to those that want to go natural and for some reason can’t find the courage or the right info to start this journey. Agreed, going natural is something that must be self-initiated and from the heart, but you can’t just dive into it with out proper info =) Major no no! lol Being that where I live there are no resources for people that want to go natural, I decided to do some research and I was so blessed to find the you tube page 1st and then ended up here. Something I would like to see on the website is probably more info about the transition stage of going natural. How to go about taking care of permed and natural hair at the same time, because that is an issue I ran into and didn’t find alot of info on.
Anyway, best of luck, u guys are awesome!

1. What I like about NaturalChica.com is that it gives all naturals and transitioners the opportunity to educate themselves further on how to treat for natural hair, without this site I would truly be lost and may have gone back to the “dark side” and relaxed my hair.

2. I would like to see more product reviews based on your hair type, I was a complete product junkie for a while because I thought everything used for natural hair would suit my hair type, which wasn’t the case.

Thank you much for educating us all Mae!

I enjoy NaturalChica.com because it started out as your personal journey about going natural and has turned into a “go to” source for many other women who are considering going natural, transitioning, or already natural. You invest so much time to provide your followers with critical and entertaining information and your vlogs are very powerful. The tutorials are awesome and your singing and moments with Angel are too cute.

In the future, I’d like to see the site continue to grow and see more of your experiences at different natural hair shows and meet n greets : )

I am where I am in my natural hair journey because of the “Nikkimae2003″ Youtube videos. I wanted to go natural. I went through my transitioning stage and finally decided it was time for the big chop. Actually, I didn’t even know getting my perm cut out had a name until I found Nikkimae 2003. Although I’ve watched quite a few how-to videos, I’ve found myself always wanting to know Mae’s opinion about products and to see new ways to style my hair. Mae, your personality is really warm and you seem to truly want to encourage others in their natural hair journey. I’m loving my natural hair and all the freedom that comes with it. I credit Nikkimae 2003 and Natural Chica with my hair success stories and I always tell others about your site. Thanks Mae!!!!!! What would I like to see more of? Everything you’ve got to offer. You’re always so informative! If you’ll share it, I’ll watch it or read it! Yea, addicted!

I love this site because its inspring not to just see Nikki Mae’s journey and tips, but to also see tips and ideas from other readers and bloggers. Its been a wonderful journey going natural and may be the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.

As far as what I’d like to see on the site, besides inspiration I’d like to see a topic about what difficulties others had about the natural journey when it came to family members or friends who were just against the process. I only bring this up because I’m having a difficulty with a close family member being thoroughly against the natural process.

I enjoy coming to your site to read about the different products you have tried and reviewed on. It kinda gives me a heads up on new things to try out on my hair (if its in my cheapo price range, LOL!) I am still trying to find a solid regimen for my natural hair. =D I also enjoy watching your hair tutorials also. Gosh, your hair is amazing, I want mines to be as big and thick as yours when it grows up [TT_TT] hehe. By watching those it has let me step out of the norm and try new hair styles. While I do love wearing my in a puff, it can kinda get boring after it in a heavy repetition, lol.

What I would like to see or I think it would be a neat idea to have on your site would like a hair section of member’s hair (or anyone’s hair) past and present. Like what they looked like when they had a relaxer and what they look like now with their big, beautiful natural hair. I guess it is to kind of give to others courage that are afraid to go natural. Also, to give hope to the recently BCed that may have small doubts that hair wont grow back and be better than ever. ^_^

What I love most about naturalchica.com is the diverse natural hair content. I appreciate that when I big chopped I could turn to your site because I know that any insecurities I was feeling at that time there was a topic or tutorial or product to help me deal with it. I also appreciate that you introduce us to new styles that you invent or that you discover through other naturals.
In the future it would be great to see more of your sisters on the blog or on youtube. I’m sure since they have been natural for so long they have a lot of great advice or styles to show us.

Ive blogged about this contest here. :)

Hi Mae! I love everything about the site…all the tips are so helpful. But I especially loved when you added the Big Chop Files! That’s my fav part of the site. I enjoy reading the ladies different reasons for deciding to wear their hair in it’s natural state. Very encouraging.

I would like to see a section for the transitioners as well. I’ve done a big chop before in the past but right now I’m currently transitioning again (almost ready to BC) and would like to see some ladies experiences on how they deal with both textures and see their styling options they choose and tips and products…etc…Thanks…you’re a true inspiration

I love this site because you have been really good about documenting your journey through pictures and video tutorials. I have relied on that heavily when thinking of new styles to try based on my hair length and texture (which seems to be ever-evolving). I would like to see more spotlights on curlies who went through the transitioning process. Thanks for all that you do! (regina.hinson@gmail.com)

I’ve been checking out archives and videos on this website for about a year now, and its helped me so much to see what I have to look forward too.

1. I love love love all your tips and styles for natural hair. I’ve tried twice in the past to go back natural and was unsuccessful simply because I didnt do my research on transition styles, products, etc. When I decided again around sept/oct of 2010 to start my natural hair journey, I came across your youtube channel. Your videos motived me so much. You are such an inspiration, seriously! I went out to WF the next payday and spent about $100 on oils. Im constantly reading labels now before anything goes in my hair. Right now Im rocking braids, and cant wait to take them out to see how much growth I have.
2. I would love to see or hear about more transition styles for people like me who’s not read to do the BC. (Im new so sorry if you already have videos on this topic)

I like Natural Chica because it makes me feel proud to be natural! I recently have became natural and it was very discouraging because I had no one to support me. Everyone in my family live by permes, they go every two weeks! So it was hard to feel pretty when my own family looked at me wierd! Natural Chica gives me confidence and courage to embrace my natural hair. I followed you hair journey on you tube and you Inspired me to follow through with my decision, even when my family said it was a bad idea. In the future I would love to see more hair accessories, jewelry, hand bags, hair supplies & clothes that represent us Natural Chicas!

But once I saw your tutorials and pictures, you gave me the confidence I needed to love and appreaciate my natural beauty.

Hopefully in the future, I get to see more photography, but with a twist. I would love to see a beautiful picture of natural depicted in fantasy. With your photography skills, you could do some great pictures of a natural Little Red Robin Hood or Sprite Fairy. Art is freedom and natural is surely free!
