It's interesting...
Some of us decided to embrace our natural hair only to follow that decision with spending tons of dollars on products that would help our hair look like the next girl's.
You know exactly what I'm talking about...
Trying to find those "holy grail" products that gives us those perfect, defined curls or whatever else our hearts desire.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with buying products that make our hair look great, but when it gets to a point where it almost feels like you are beating your hair into submission...something is not right.
I definitely am not excluded!...
It's not since this past month that I've decided to really just let my hair do its thing. If it doesn't want to curl up in the front, then that's what it was meant to do. If it wants to shrink so it looks like I only have a 1/2 inch of hair, then by all means...shrink away!
It really kind of dissapoints me when I get emails saying, what do I have to use so my hair can look like yours? or what products can I use to get my hair to curl up more? Each person's natural hair journey is different and I think it is time to not only embrace our natural hair, but embrace it for how it NATURALLY wants to behave.
I have permission to share a YouTube video with you all from one of my favorite vloggers, NikkiiDior. Her video represents my expressed sentiments exactly!
So...what do you guys think? Are we obsessed with over-manipulation of our natural hair?
As always, would LOVE to hear your thoughts!
