Natural Chica featured on Girl, It’s Not Just You Blog

I'm a member over at the "20 Something Bloggers" Ning network, and over there I had the opportunity of becoming acquainted with a fellow blogger, Abena, of the "Girl, It's Not Just You" blog.

I found her blog intriguing, and you can get an idea of the types of posts she brings with the tagline quote she has under her blog title:

“For women... bras, panties, bathing suits, and other stereotypical gear are visual reminders of a commercial, idealized feminine image that our real and diverse female bodies can't possibly fit. Without these visual references, each individual woman's body demands to be accepted on its own terms. We stop being comparatives. We begin to be unique.” Gloria Steinem

She has a feature on her blog called "Real Beauty" and I was really flattered when she asked to feature to me!

These are the questions I was able to address in the feature post:

1) Should hair be a big deal for black women? Is being a Naturalista important for Black women?
2) Name an obstacle(s) that black women are presented with (social, economic, political, physical...anything) and how you think they can overcome that obstacle.
3) What keeps you strong and motivated?...What keeps you going each day?

I would love to get your feedback on these responses, so check out the feature HERE and show Abena's blog some love : )

Gracias!
