What sparked your interest in music and how would you classify your sound?
You know...My mom loved music and she listened to it everyday. I just remembered at the age of 4 singing all of the time and people telling me to shut-up! lol!
I would classify my sound as Rhythm/Rock/Soul. It's a mix of R&B/Neo-Soul, but also has some added spice with a pop rock feel!
So we've noticed you're a natural chica too...what's your natural hair story? Some of your favorite hair products?
Wow...I am kind of an accidental natural chick, if that makes any sense at all! lol! I really didn't know anything about being natural, the big chop, nothing. I just decided one day that I had enough of my hair, it was a mess, and the chemicals were killing it! I started wearing extensions and kinky twist until finally one day I was brave enough to get the scissors out and chop away! By the way..I did not know it was called the big chop! lol! From that day on, I have been in love with my hair and myself! I don' really have any favorite products. I keep it to a minimum and stick with the basics, conditioner, moisturizer, oil, and shampoo once a month!
Do you write your own music and if so, how long does it usually take for you to finish one of your pieces?
Yes..I write my own lyrics along with a few producers who create the actual track! Well..I can write a song in less than an hour depending on how I am able to connect with the music or the subject!
Where do you get the inspiration for your work?
My inspiration comes from God first of all, family, friends! My musical inspirations are people like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Tina Turner, Shania Twain, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Joss Stone, Natasha Bedingfield, Floetry, Solange, Beyonce, and many more! lol!
What are your overall goals for your music? Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
My overall goal is to have a successful hit album that people can really enjoy. I don't necessarily desire fame, but I just want the world to feel what I have to say and be impacted by that!
In 10 years honey..I see myself relaxing and listening to some of my #1 hit albums that I recorded years ago! lol!

My first single, Crazy In Love will be available for sale February 15 2010!

My first single is due in February, so make sure you get your copy when it's released!
I will also be going on a 20 city tour called young divas of the south. We will be touring cities in the south so hopefully it will be a great experience and I will meet some new people!
One more thing..being in this industry you are made to feel like you have to be a certain way, and it is really difficult to be you, but I am taking a stand and I am going to represent for us Natural Chicas and show that it can be done!
