RECETAS (Recipes): Guest Blogger -Ebony Laquise Naturals

Today, I am very excited to introduce to you all our first guest blogger, Ebony Laquise Naturals, to the Natural Chica site! As many of you know, I LOVE to mix my own hair and body products using natural ingredients, which makes me really thrilled about having Ebony on board. Ebony has her own site, where she shares her concoctions for a variety of products for hair & body care, and even home cleaning! She will be coming to us monthly to share Do-It-Yourself “recetas” (recipes) that I know will be easy and fun for all to try!

Ebony Laquise Naturals - Shea Cashmere Butter Recipe

Wrap your skin in cashmere with this soothing, silky body cream.

Ingredients:
6 tbsp shea butter
4 tbsp vegetable glycerine
1 tbsp aloe vera gel
1 tsp olive oil
10 drops sweet orange essential oil
10 drops lemongrass essential oil

Instructions:
Melt the shea butter in a double boiler until butter is creamy. Stir continuously to aid the melting. Once shea butter is melted to a cream, add vegetable glycerine and stir completely. Add the aloe vera, olive oil, and essential oils. Stir until all ingredients are mixed. Remove from double boiler and pour Shea Cashmere Butter into storage container. Allow to cool at room temperature. Shea Cashmere Butter can be used as hair and body moisturizer.

Notes:
All of the ingredients can be purchased at your local Whole Foods store or any other specialty market (i.e. Trader Joe’s).

(Special Note from Mae): For those ladies who don’t own a double-boiler, you can try using a oven-safe glass bowl that you can put within a larger pot of hot water in order to melt/soften the ingredients. This is what I do! PLEASE don’t microwave these ingredients! That can potentially destroy the structure and healing benefits of most natural products.
