FAB TWA (Fierce & Beautiful Teeny Weeny Afro): Meet Samara!

Meet Samara!

A chica whose transition to natural hair started with a challenge to see how long she could “stretch out” her relaxer!

WHEN YOU STARTED ROCKIN’ YOUR TWA

I started wearing my TWA about two weeks ago.

WHY DID YOU MAKE THE TRANSITION TO NATURAL HAIR?

Well initially I wanted to stretch out my relaxer…just to see how long I could go without a touch up and see if it would still look fresh.  After finding out a friend who I thought was relaxed (she wears blow outs) was actually natural, I just started doing my research online.  YOUTUBE & GOOGLE gave me so much information about the versatility of natural hair. I was so curious to see what my own natural hair would look like and also along with the facts of what a relaxer actually does to your hair is what made me vow to never get a relaxer again.

3 THINGS YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT HAVING A TWA

1 First, since it's summer right now I love not having to fuss with anything on my face, neck, or shoulders!

2 I also love the fact that styling in the morning doesn't take as long..just untwist..spray a little moisture mist and go!

3 I've never had my hair this short so I am enjoying this new look!

3 PRODUCTS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT FOR STYLING YOUR TWA

1 Blended Beauty's Curly Frizz Pudding

2 SheaMoisture's Moisture Mist

3 Eco styling Gel

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO OTHERS WHO MAY BE CONSIDERING DOING THE BC?

I would say don't be too focused on length!  I didn't plan on doing the BC , but after five months of transitioning I thought "well I'm wearing lace fronts anyway..may as well start the process"  after I immediately got braids.  I couldn't afford braids again so I decided to reveal my natural hair.  Step out with confidence and boldness.  I was one who thought I wouldn't look right with short hair.  I actually really like it now.  It's something every woman should experience at least once and you'd be surprised how much you and others around you may like it!
