From some of my older posts on NaturalChica.com, there is no question about me being a HUGE fan of the ridiculously talented Esperanza Spalding! I had the chance to tune in to the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards and literally held my breath as they announced the winner for Best New Artist- a category that Esperanza was nominated for along with more mainstream, popular artists like Drake and Justin Beiber.
When they finally read the winner's name and it was Esperanza..my excitement went through the roof! Esperanza has been heavy on the jazz scene (one of my favorite genres of musics) for several years now and it's so great to see that she's getting the honor and distinction she deserves! I loved her latest album (Chamber Music Society) and can't wait till the follow-up album, Radio Music Society is released!
