Before my recent hair cut, I promised myself that if I ever had short hair again that I would experiment with more styles! When I did my big chop back in 2009, I was learning how to care for my new, natural texture and it really took me a while to get the hang of it and have the confidence to try a lot of new styles. Now that I've been natural for over 5 years, I'm having too much fun trying new things with this new cut! Finger coils was always on my list of styles to try with short, natural hair so I'm happy I finally had the chance to try it out using products sent to me from Shea Moisture's Coconut & Hibiscus collection!
What I loved about finger coil styling was that I could the wear the finger coils for several days and then separate them for a "coil-out" that also lasted several days! This gave me a style that lasted well over a week and was so easy to maintain (ended up wearing this style to our Naturally Pretty High Texture Tea)! At night, all I did was sleep on my satin pillowcase per the usual. The time it took to create the style and the length of time I was able to wear it has finger coils now at the top of my go-to list!
This was my "coil-out"...over 7 days from the initial finger coil set!
Have you tried finger coils before? If not, do you think it's a style you would ever try?
