For all COLOUR appointments, you take care of cleansing and conditioning your hair and COLOUR takes care of the styling.
Here's what I did on my natural hair wash day to prep for my first COLOUR appointment
Ready to get this wash day started! Some of my wash day faves from Shea Moisture
CLEANSING
To cleanse my hair, I used Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil. Before applying the shampoo to my hair, I thoroughly saturated my hair with water in the shower and started lightly finger detangling my hair. I then applied the shampoo, working it in my scalp first with a gentle massage and then smoothed it down to my ends. I also continued finger detangling and removed shed hair during this process. I separated my hair into 6 sections for better manageability and lathered and rinsed twice for a really thorough cleansing.
CONDITIONING
After rinsing the shampoo out of my hair, I then coated my hair with conditioner from root to tip while finger detangling in sections. After finger detangling, I then detangled with my Evolve detangling brush. It was my first time using it, and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use in the shower! It's a keeper for me.Once all my sections were detangled, I then twisted each section and then did a deep condition treatment with my Hair Therapy Wrap after placing a plastic cap on my head. I usually let the conditioner sit for about 20 min. under my heated cap.Hair saturated with conditioner while in twistsDeep conditioning with my hair therapy wrapAfter my deep condition, I rinsed the conditioner out of my hair while my hair was twisted in sections and then I was off to my COLOUR appointment with thoroughly cleansed and conditioned hair!Fresh clean hair for my appointment!
